Children will enjoy Fantastic Mr. Fox role play, storytelling and a projector screening.

11 Sep

Rosh Hashanah

Children will learn about this special celebration through stories, creative activities, and an age-appropriate exploration of apples and honey.

15 Sep

World Afro Day

Children will explore different hair textures and hairstyles through stories and creative activities, promoting self-confidence, inclusion and respect for diversity.

22 Sep

World Gratitude Day

Police officers will visit BrightKidz, where children will learn about their role in the community, create thank-you cards and drawings, and explore simple safety skills.

29 Sep

World Heart Day

A nutritionist will help children learn how to keep their hearts healthy through fruit and vegetables, drinking water, healthy food choices and physical activity.

Month Oct
Monthly Focus

Black History Month

Children will enjoy stories about inspiring Black people throughout the month. They will take part in inclusive role play using diverse dolls, books and resources, and explore African and Caribbean music and rhythms through music and movement.

5–17 Oct

World Space Week

Children will explore space through stories, songs, creative activities and role play, learning about the moon, stars, planets and astronauts. They can create rockets, make moon and star pictures and explore space-themed sensory activities.

7 Oct

Grandparents' Day

Grandparents will visit the nursery and spend special time with the children, enjoying play, activities, stories and songs together.

8 Oct

World Mental Health Day

A clinical psychologist will visit the nursery to talk with children and staff about mental health, emotions and simple ways to support emotional wellbeing.

12 Oct

World Porridge Day

Children will make their own porridge with healthy fruits, enjoy the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and take part in fun role play activities.

15 Oct

World Handwashing Day

Children will do the salt and pepper experiment to learn about the importance of handwashing.

21 Oct

Cooking Activity: Caribbean Food

During Black History Month, we will welcome a parent into the nursery to share Caribbean culture through a fun, child-friendly cooking activity, giving children the opportunity to explore new flavours, ingredients and traditions.

Halloween Party

Children will enjoy a fun celebration at nursery and can come dressed in their favourite Halloween costumes, with spooky-themed activities, music, games and creative play.

Bonfire Night

Children will explore the celebration through firework-themed art, songs, stories and sensory activities, learning about colours, sounds and staying safe around fireworks.

World Remembrance Day

Children will learn about kindness, peace and remembrance through age-appropriate stories, simple crafts and poppy-making, helping them understand the importance of respect and peace.

10 Nov

World Science Day

Children will take part in science experiments at nursery.

13 Nov

World Kindness Day

Children will visit a local care home to spend time with older people, sharing stories, songs, simple activities and smiles, while developing kindness, respect and a sense of community.

World Road Safety Week

Firefighters will come and visit the nursery.

19 Nov

World Pudsey Day

Children will support BBC Children in Need and learn about kindness, helping others and caring for our community.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas Celebration

Join us for our Christmas celebration featuring a Nativity play and refreshments for parents.
